Julie Yakes, Esq.
Started out with a B.S. in Archaeology from Michigan State University, and worked for a few years at the kind of jobs that a bachelor’s in archaeology will get you. (For those who are interested, she also offers an exciting presentation on mall security.) Looking for a career that went beyond telling children to stop playing on the escalator, she went to the University of Colorado School of Law and afterward landed a job as a staff attorney at the Industrial Claim Appeals Office in the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment. Eventually she moved to the Division of Workers’ Compensation where she is now the Manager of Insurance Compliance, overseeing the workers' compensation coverage requirements of all Colorado employers.
